GOLD CALLING provides a classic example of minimum value at maximum price.
GC is a contact management system based upon a MYSQL database which functions on your PC. Unfortunately, search functions are so flakey, and so limited, that the larger your contact database becomes, the more impossible contact management becomes.
You cannot search for propsects living in Birmingham, or India, or San Jose, or anywhere else. You CAN search telephone numbers by area code, but experience has demonstrated that even this limited functionality fails to meet the test.
GC excels in integration. You can meld it with Skype and have it automatically update its records when someone uses Skype to contact you. Unfortunately, that’s a function I’ve found to be of limited value.
If you’re in the market for contact management software, GC *may* be the right product for you, but it’s my belief that the far less expensive “Maximiser” is a more efficient and effective system.
If you value my advice, then give Gold Calling a pass for at least another year… there’s just no way it’s ready for prime time, and absolutely no way it lives up to the hype being used to promote it.
